Community Orchards for Central Warwickshire

Would you like a community orchard in your village?

South Warwickshire Local Food CIC are currently developing a business plan and Full Application to the Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER programme and are looking for villages or parishes who would like help to establish an orchard for their community.

  • Free Guided Farm Walks

    Feldon Forest Farm: Saturday 8th October 2011 at 2pm

    Frankton, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV23 9PD

      Funded by the: Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER Programme

     The free of charge walk will cover various aspects of the Farm to include:

  • Community Orchards - Ryton Orchard

    Established orchard 78 trees on village centre site. Planting and pruning days held. Equipment bought and other furniture in process. Management and group plan being worked on.

  • Community Orchards

    Community Orchards begin with a planning and design phase to help communities define the types of orchard they would like to have and formalising a community group to carry out the sub-project then training community groups for orchard planting and care (e.g. planting, pruning, maintenance) followed by establishing social events (harvest, processing) centred around the orchard and create networking opportunities between groups.

  • Call for Applications

    The Local Action Group is pleased to announce the next round of calls for applications.

    The next call deadlines are as follows:

    Friday 8th July 2011 - This deadline is for Expressions of Interest or Full Applications for projects related to any of the 3 Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER programme themes of Community Growing, Community Arts and Linking Land Based Industries.
