Lets get Arty

Earlier this year my village church held an arts event with a difference. Local artists (some of whom were quite new to this hobby) came along and showed their work, which was available for sale. The event included wine and canapes and was very sociable.

The twist was that the artists were actually painting and  drawing etc using a variety of materials and techniques, and were able to discuss the methods they were using and also to encourage others to have a go. There were water colourists, oil paintings, pastels, acrylics, decoupage, collage and a whole range of other skills to try. It was both educational and fun, and I believe some people have now taken up artistic pursuits. No, I didn't have a go - haven't got an artisitic bone in my body but I do appreciate the work of others!
