Gardens Go Wild

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust would like to encourage more people to consider wildlife in their gardens and reward people who already have wildlife friendly gardens.

Individuals will be invited to participate in the existing Warwickshire Wildlife Trust Wildlife Gardening award scheme (http://www.warwickshire-wildlife-trust.org.uk/conservation/wildlife-gardening.aspx) but in addition to this a competitive edge will be introduced. There will be awards in the following categories:

  • All individuals who enter and qualify will receive a Wildlife Friendly Garden plaque.

  • Within each village - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for individuals.

  • Across villages - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for individuals.

  • Best overall village.

As each village will probably have a village hall so we could have a wildlife gardening presentation and plant/product sale in each village.

There will be an open gardens weekend where all entries will be judged and some open to the public if the owners wish to.

The end event will be an award ceremony at Brandon or somewhere more central to the villages.
