England On show

Following the interest generated by our local history project "My Farming Life", we plan to create a record of the annual and occasional village events that celebrate the achievements of our rural communities. Agricultural and Horticultural Shows, traditional Maypole, and Harvest Festivals are all changing as rural communities evolve to take onboard the cultures and new traditions of the 21st Century. We plan to work with the communities who manage to maintain a village show, to help them record, display and recreate scenes from years gone by, recalling the close link between the food we eat and the skills it takes to produce it.
