Glossary
As an EU and UK government funded programme the LEADER programme abounds in acronyms and strange terms. Below we provide a glossary to the ones you are most likely to encounter,
| AWM | Advantage West Midlands is the is the regional development agency (RDA) for the West Midlands and is responsible for the LEADER programme in the West Midlands (among other things) |
| CREG 16 Form | Rural Payments Agency Customer Registration Form that needs to be completed to register for grant payment |
| Defra | The UK Government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) which oversees LEADER amoungst other things |
| EAFRD | European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development is a European agricultural fund which was set up for the financing of rural development programmes |
| LAG | Local Action Group - effectively a steering committee for the Central Warwickshire Villages LEADER programme |
| LDS | Local Development Strategy |
| LEADER | Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l'Economie Rurale |
| RDA | Regional Development Agency, responsible for stimulating economic activity in a region, called AWM in the West Midlands (see above) |
| RDPE | Rural Development Plan for England, the LEADER approach is a delivery mechanism under this programme which runs from 2007-2013 |
| RPA | Rural Payments Agency, an Executive Agency of Defra which provides services such as rural payments, rural inspections and livestock tracing and responsible for payments to beneficiaries under the LEADER programme |
