Linking up with other groups online
Hopefully one of the byproducts of this process is going to be a greater awareness of what is going on in the town or village on our doorstep. On way this is already happening is through the GroupsNearYou website which gives a geographical way of finding out what's going on with local community groups near you.
For instance put in Warwick and it turns up this page.
With links to Rowington Parish Council with the encouraging message from Robert Browett.
It would seem logical to ensure all parish councils are aware of your site.
GrouspNearYou is a clever way of signposting people to their local groups and Rowington even have a blog, so I'll post a comment over there to let them know about LEADER.
Also from GroupsNearYou is a group in Coventry called Call the Shots, and on their website they have details of their schemes to get people involved in film-making - something which could link up quite nicely with a number of potential LEADER projects.
It's encouraging to know that we're not doing this in a vacuum. It always pays to use tools like GroupsNearYou to look out and see what other people are doing already, you might be pleasantly surprised :)
