LETS SING is a singing and performing arts project aimed at people of all ages and singing abilitiy living in and around Wolston and Church Lawford. A weekly singing lesson led by a professional vocal coach followed by karaoke singing all leading towards producing a CD and putting on a performance. Every Monday 6.30pm - 8.30pm Wolston Baptist Church, Main Street, Wolston. No need to book - just turn up. £2 per week.

Gardens Go Wild

The Gardens Go Wild project aims are to encourage more people to consider wildlife in their gardens, allotments and community green spaces. We will be providing support and information, and rewarding villages for the positive steps they take to improve their green spaces for wildlife. FREE Activities as part of the project will include:

• Awards Events for villages with wildlife gardens/green spaces
• Information packs
• Wildlife gardening and allotments talks
• Community planting events
• A bi- monthly newsletter

Its aims are to encourage more people to consider wildlife in their gardens, allotments and community green spaces. It can make all the difference to small local businesses, give your community fundraising a boost, help you to organise new village events or improve facilities like footpaths; even create local employment. Most importantly it can bring people together.

    Your Local Hedgerows and Woods

    Warwickshire Wildlife Trust would like to get people in and around the Princethorpe/ Bubbenhall area involved in learning more about the environment about them, especially the woods and the hedgerows between them, linking to the local farming economy and the history of the woodlands.

    Hands On Hands Off

     Sez- U Community Theatre would like to create a new play working closely with two or three villages. We would like to document, interview and archive a cross section of local people and then use their views and stories to weave into a new play that can tour, fetes,galas and village halls.     Community Orchards

    We are a group including Action 21 from Leamington and the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust who are looking to set up a number of community orchards in Central Warwickshire. Community orchards are a great way to provide community space in a parish and can be used for all sorts of things apart from just fruit production. Picnics and BBQs spring to mind! We are looking to help village groups set up orchards.

    Equipment for Community Venues

    Live & Local has already been approached by some community venue committees in Warwick and Rugby Districts with regard to helping with a bid for performance related equipment for their hall.

    There may well be benefits to a combined bid from several organisations across the District, especially where the individual bids are for less than £5,000. In particular it may also enable an equipment pool for the sharing of some items.  

    Live & Local - Story Tent

    Story, yarn or anecdote - everybody has a story to tell and anybody can tell a story…

    We are looking for community groups, individuals and event organisers across the villages of Warwick and Rugby Districts who would like to participate in projects over the next couple of years to collect and tell their communities’ stories.

    Live & Local would work with your community to support people of all ages to gather local tales and also teach people how to tell their stories to others.
