Young people (under 25)

Painting the Subway under the A45 in Ryton-on-Dunsmore

The project would involve engaging the local Youth Club to design and apply a mural on the walls of the subway under theA45 which links the two halves of the village. This should create a pleasant visual effect which,  being owned by the young people of the village will be less vulnerable to graffiti and other damage. The cost would be for paint and painting materials.

Linking schools to local allotments and farms

I think a LEADER project linking schools to local allotment associations and farms would greatly benefit any rural community. Gardening and growing things is both healthy and educational for children who could be supported by volunteers from allotments and farms to grow their own produce at the school. Children could visit allotments, farms and markets and really get an understanding where food comes from. It is also a project that could be taken as far as is sustainable.

Rural Paparazzi

Project to provide a digital camera to a youth group in each ward (20 in total) in the Central Warwickshire leader area.  Youngsters would be taught to use cameras and would be able to use the camera/borrow it for a period of time.

Monthly theme for photographs eg water, farm animal, wildlife, local event,  with monthly competition for best photograph.

Photographs to be uploaded to Flickr (similar to the Big Picture project in Birmingham)
