In our village in rural Warwickshire there is a peice of derelict land that could be used for a Community Orchard.  It could be planted with fruit trees as a community activity, bringing all age groups together.  The fruit could then be shared amongst residents of the village including families, the local school, young people and the elderly.  The project would allow the more elderly residents to pass on their knowledge of gardening and cooking (we could all make jam!) and help the younger people to understand the benefits of locally produced fresh food.
