Criteria for Arts on our Doorstep

Arts on our Doorstep

1. Are we eligible?

Who can apply?

Voluntary, community groups and organisations who have an idea for an arts project that will take place in the rural parishes of Rugby Borough and Warwick District. You may also apply as an individual but you must be able to demonstrate that you will be able to develop an effective group that can manage the project and demonstrate the range of benefiaries for your project.

What sort of projects will Arts on our Doorstep support?

Arts on our Doorstep provides an opportunity to try out new approaches. This could be trying out an entirely new arts project or event for the first time or enhancing an existing project by introducing a new activity or event, working with professional artists, or trying to include new or different audiences and participants.

There are no restrictions on art forms.

Your project should meet at least one of the following Arts on our Doorstep aims:

  • Using the arts to create a strong sense of place within communities
  • Developing and delivering arts projects which have a positive impact on people, with a particular focus on community cohesion, capacity building and wellbeing
  • Developing and delivering arts projects which have a positive impact on the local environment
  • Creating employment opportunities for local artists and arts organisations
  • Leaving a legacy of skills within the community

What value of funding can we ask for?

The total value of the project must be between £500 - £5000. This includes all professional/specialist expertise that you may need to realise your project. We do not give money directly to groups. The scheme purchases the resources that each successful project will require.

When can our project take place?

Arts on our Doorstep will support projects taking place from 2010 to 2013. Project planning MUST commence within 3 months of approval and conclude within 12 months, including completed evaluation reports.

Activities and projects supported by Arts on our Doorstep must not commence before official approval.

This scheme does not provide support for:

  • Projects only benefiting individuals.
  • On-going provisions or courses.
  • Groups wanting to undertake activities outside the rural parishes of Rugby Borough and Warwick District.

Please Note: There are no restrictions on art forms. Arts on our Doorstep does not give money directly to groups.

2. We fit the criteria, what next?

Please contact the Arts on our Doorstep team or call 07879 117423 and leave a message with your contact details and a brief description of your project. We will respond as soon as possible and arrange a surgery for you to talk through your idea and the application process with a Project Officer.

3. How to apply

If after your surgery session you decide, with support from your Arts on our Doorstep Project Officer, to apply to the programme, you will need to complete and return the application form, which will be sent to you by your Project Officer. Guidance notes on how to fill in the form are available to support you through the application process.
